Adult Sunday School – Sunday mornings from 9:45-10:45. Classes are available for all ages, with a variety of class formats.

  •      Bible Study (Room 204 at 9:45) – The Bible Study class reads and studies one chapter of the Bible each week. The class is currently studying Jeremiah. Members of all generations welcome anyone who wants to join or visit. Using a set of standard questions, the class reviews the content of the chapter, what the chapter tells us about God, and how to apply that to our lives today. Contact Suzie McCoy for more information: [email protected]

Family Living (Room 209 at 9:45) – The Family Living Class studies the Bible through the Present Word curriculum while praying for each other, the church, and the world, with frequent breaks for social and fellowship activities. The door is always open, and new members are welcome. The curriculum, a denomination-wide study that covers the entire Bible over time, begins each quarter with a new topic. Contact Jim C Quick for more information: [email protected]

Foundations (Room 201 at 9:45) – This casual, discussion-type class focuses on a broad range of topics including specific books of the Bible, learning about the various components of the worship service, and book studies. Many class members are parents of young children. They also meet outside of class for family and social events. Contact Matt Annen for more information.

Friendship (Room 214 at 9:45) – The class will begin a DVD series, Revealing the Mysteries of Heaven by David Jeremiah, starting September 5. Contact Liz Lowrance or Sue Lavender for more information: (Liz) es[email protected], (Sue) [email protected]

Genesis (Room 208 at 9:45) –  Genesis is a welcoming class in room 208. We enjoy class activities like serving at the Life Shelter, Thanksgiving baskets, movie night, Levitt Pavilion, and others. Class lessons are from small group studies and various Bible studies, which invite discussion as the group works to strengthen members’ faith. Contact Tina Hanson or Jeanne Chin for more information: (Tina) at [email protected], or (Jeanne) [email protected]

Loose Ends (Room 210 at 9:45) – This group encompasses all ages and stages of life. The class is just beginning a study of Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. Contact Phil Austin for more information: [email protected]

  • FPCA Women’s Ministry – The Women’s Ministry Team hosts activities and events that increase the fellowship, witness, and spiritual growth of the women of First Presbyterian Church of Arlington.

     One Summer, One Book

We had so much fun last year that we’re going to do it again!

As we continue in this year’s pursuit to develop a heart for service, join your sisters in Christ as we gather to explore Sharon Hodde Miller’s book, “Free of Me”.  We will learn how to move from living a life based on the world’s vision, which focuses on self, into a bigger, Jesus‑centered vision, guiding toward true fulfillment and purpose.

Our first night will be our book club Kickoff Party Potluck–bring your favorite dish and let’s celebrate the start of summer! (We’ll provide snacks the rest of the summer.)

You can find the book on Amazon, Christianbook.com, Mardel, or anywhere books are sold.  Be sure you bring the book, and not the study guide.

Please register so we know you’re coming:

    • Men’s Ministry – includes the Wednesday Morning Bible Study as well as attending conferences in the region.

Bible Study: The Wednesday Morning Men’s Bible Study meets between 8 and 9 AM in the Parlor. The group is studying the Revelation of John primarily using the commentary of William Barclay

Mo Ranch Men’s Conference:  Each year a group of men from our church attend the Men’s Conference at Mo Ranch in the Texas Hill Country. The conference is a gathering of men who meet to worship together in Word, song and Sacrament. United in their bond with the Lord and moved by His Spirit, they engage in fellowship, study, recreation and ministry to each other. Through the gifts of God and the power of the Holy Spirit, they receive renewed strength to go forth and live daily, sharing the love of God, revealed in Jesus Christ, through words, deeds and activities.|

    • Happy Quilters – meet on Wednesdays from 10:30 am to 1 pm in room 204 to learn basic quilting skills and to build new friendships with ladies who are interested in the creative process of quilting. You do not need prior quilting experience to join, and you can decide how much time you want to devote to each project. The group also does other types of creative projects such as needlepoint or cross stitch. We work for a while and then have lunch together so bring a sack lunch.
    • Opportunities for Service – FPCA’s impact can be seen in our local community as well as abroad internationally.
