The Rev. Rich McDermott has served as Senior Pastor at FPCA since March, 2015. He grew up in Colorado, and previously served churches in Winter Haven, FL, Mexico City, Mexico, Fort Collins, CO and Omaha, NE. He is married to Betsy Kenyon McDermott whom he met at Princeton Seminary. They have five adult children, three of whom are married, and one granddaughter: Cathy (Dele), Martin (Marielle), Matt (Alex, Finley), Ellen and Olivia. Rich committed his life to Christ in college and was ordained as a pastor in 1979. He enjoys golf, fishing, tennis, the Denver Broncos, and is growing in his appreciation for the Dallas Cowboys.
The Rev. Chris Campbell has served as Associate Pastor at FPCA since July, 2016. Chris and his wife, Chelsea, were born and raised in Dallas. Chris is a graduate of Austin College and Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He previously served churches in Birmingham, AL and Greenville, TX. Chris and Chelsea have two sons: Colton and Hudson. Chris publicly responded to God’s call on his life after completing confirmation in 1991. Interests (obsessions) include sports (DFW teams and the Longhorns \m/) and music. Chris is a P1 and excited to be serving God in Arlington.
The Rev. Gary Lindley’s responsibilities included managing the office, facility upkeep and repair, and personnel. Gary, a United Methodist Clergy, retired from the Central Texas Conference on July 1, 2017 with 48 years of service. The last ten years of his ministry he served as a District Superintendent of the Fort Worth District and a member of the Bishop’s Cabinet and, then, as The Executive Director for the Center for Evangelism and Church Growth and District Superintendent of The New Church District. Gary is a graduate of Brite Divinity School at TCU and a devoted Horned Frog. Gary has been married to Eileen for 48 years and they have two sons, two awesome daughters-in- law and five grandchildren. He enjoys genealogy, traveling, reading, and especially time he can spend with his grandchildren.
Russell Farnell is the Minister of Music at FPCA. He is married to Laura and has two boys: Ryan and Will. He enjoys sports, the outdoors, astronomy, computers, and lots of other nerdy things. His passion is prompting the church to authentic, heart-felt worship through music with this statement for music ministry in mind:
Our purpose is to bring the best offering possible to God in worship, but excellence in performance is not an end in itself for the church musician. Worship must be led in spirit and truth to achieve the goals of the church: to glorify God, to edify believers, and to proclaim the good news of the Gospel to the world.
Kyle Terwilliger is the Director of Children’s Ministry at FPCA. He has been working in children’s ministries for about 25 years. He is married to a wonderful woman named Diane and they have four children: Samuel, Jonathan, Lydia and David. Kyle is a sports fan. He likes to watch baseball, basketball and football. He also enjoys reading, puppets and illusions.
Adrian Rodriguez is the Director of Youth Ministry at FPCA. He grew up as the eldest of three children in a military family. At the age of 14 his family relocated to Arlington, Texas where Adrian accepted Christ and discovered his passion for youth ministry. He enjoys sharing Christ’s love and faithfulness with others and has led youth ministries for over 10 years. He is a graduate of Sam Houston High and The University of Texas at Arlington. Adrian is married to his high school sweetheart, Alecia and they have two daughters, Aileigh (age 4), and Addileigh (age 1). He enjoys spending time with family and watching sports in his spare time.
Sandra is the FPCA Preschool Director. Sandra grew up just outside of Nacogdoches, the oldest town in Texas. She has four children, Adam, Evan, Parker and Jerica. Parker and Jerica are the two youngest and still live at home. Sandra had a registered preschool in her home in Austin, TX for seventeen years. She was Assistant Director of a KinderCare Learning Center in Dallas. Sandra holds a Bachelor’s of Applied Arts and Sciences with an Applied Technology and Performance Improvement major from the University of North Texas. She holds an Associate degree in Child Development. Sandra’s hobbies include biking, camping, hanging out with her family and friends and doing the West Coast Lindy-Hop.
Jeanne Chin is the Finance Manager here at First Presbyterian Church of Arlington. She is one of the long-timers on staff and has been working at the church for the past eleven years and has also helped the Preschool with bookkeeping and accounting services for twenty seven years. Jeanne is married to Kevin Chin, and has three wonderful, beautiful daughters. Jeanne loves reading, music, movies, listening to Christian speakers, enjoying her church family, working on projects around the home, and spending time with her own family. Her passion is knocking out those financials and spreadsheets to support and help the ministries of FPCA run smoothly.
Administrative Ministry Assistant to the Senior Pastor
Kim Lewis is the Administrative Ministry Assistant to the Senior Pastor at FPCA. Kim is married to an amazing man named Curt. They have two grown daughters, Sara, and son-in-law Bryan; daughter, Laura and one grandson, Moses.Kim gave her heart to Jesus at the age of 10.Kim worked for 10 years with a pro-life ministry in Minnesota doing crisis pregnancy, post abortion counseling and speaking for the unborn. Kim loves contemporary Christian music, singing, writing and reading Christian romance, rubber stamp art creations, Hallmark movies and the Texas Rangers. She thoroughly enjoys every minute she can spend with her family (in Minnesota and Wisconsin), especially her precious grandson.
Jane Leathem is the Finance Assistant at FPCA.Jane has one son, Michael, and daughter-in-law Rebecca; one granddaughter, Christina Jade.Jane made a profession of faith at age 7 and was baptized. As a teenager, she felt that God was calling her to some kind of special service.45 years later she would fulfill the call she received long ago.She currently serves as an elder on Session, as she did from 2011-13.Jane has been a member of the Chancel Choir since joining FPCA in 1999. She has served on the Worship Team. Currently she is a scribe on the Worship Team, and a member of the Liturgy Team.
Cheryl Harris, our Music Ministry Associate, leads the congregation in Sunday morning worship with organ and piano music as needed, coordinates soloists for the 8:30 service, and plays for the Agape youth choir. She graduated from University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Music Education degree. For her, music in worship plays a special role to illuminate the message of the gospel. Music can sometimes minster to people where words can’t. Cheryl has a private piano studio and accompanies UTA music students. She is married to Mike Harris and is a life-long cat lover. However, in 2000 she became enlightened and now loves dogs too.
Joshua Lang is the Organist at First Presbyterian Church in Arlington, TX where he resides. He has served as organist and choirmaster in the past at: St. Timothy Anglo-Catholic Church in Fort Worth, Forest Hill Presbyterian Church, and St. Gregory Episcopal in Mansfield. He recently completed his Masters in Organ Performance degree with Dr. Joe Butler at Texas Christian University. In 2014 he graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Theory, studying organ there with Dr. Linton Powell. He is a member of the American Guild of Organists, Fort Worth Chapter where he serves as Communications Chairman and Webmaster.
Diane grew up with FPCA since she was a very young child under the parenthood of both Jeanne and Kevin Chin. She was given the opportunity to work at FPCA in February of 2016. Currently, Diane is still in school at the University of Texas in Arlington and working hard towards a Computer Science degree. Diane enjoys seeing many types of animals, making art, listening to stories, and playing games. She believes that if she learns to let God work through her, she, and others, can help make the world a kinder and better place for those who are suffering.
